Staycation
This year for our family vacation, we decided on spending the week in Austin. As it turned out, our staycation was the most relaxing time we could have planned—swimming out back in the pool, eating out at fun restaurants, hiking on the Greenbelt, watching movies together at night. The highlight of the week was renting a boat, with pilot, on the lake. We launched at arguably the prettiest spot in Austin: the landing at the iron bridge on 360. It’s the site of the golf course at Austin Country Club and the clifftop perch where you can get the most beautiful views of the water and watch fireworks on the Fourth of July. Everyone loved our lazy tour of the lake and splashing around on the water pad. Swimming in the most peaceful part of the lake, with the green surroundings, looked like paradise. I only wish I had worn a swimsuit to dive in.
