A Day in the Life

A Day in the Life

I want to remember the rhythm of these leisurely Fall days with our grandson; with Elizabeth expecting a second baby in the Spring, the pace can’t possibly stay the same. That’s not to say that Jack’s pace has been at all slow. He’s a little man in a hurry, running from one activity to another. It’s just that Mark and I have had time to savor the days with him, enjoying our routine of walks around Ella Lee Lane, watching the workers going about the business of their days, watering plants and cars, and taking in the sights of kids and other little creatures playing around us. It’s a tribute to the neighborhood that Jack knows Malcolm, the mailman, his favorite Fed Ex man, and the three garbage men by sight. All the workers are so friendly to him, and his wave makes them smile every time. What more could we ask for in a child’s daily life, and what more adorable companion to share the days? A special treat for Jackaboo was a visit from Aunt Amy who came to town for Molly’s soccer match at Texas A&M. Hopefully, he’ll soon get to play with his cousins and Aunt Bonnie, when things return to normal.
