All in the Family: Grande Isle

In July, after a lot of planning on Amy’s part, most all of the family came together in Grande Isle. Jack and Benjamin scoured the beach at dusk for toodleoo’s for the first time, and all the cousins spent hours building sand castles and cities, riding the waves in and out of rafts, and playing games in the camp. Meanwhile, the adults enjoyed themselves hanging out in the shade under the tent, when they weren’t digging in the sand or playing in the surf with the kiddos. Friday night, we celebrated Elizabeth’s birthday. She’s already talking about her 40th next year—in Disneyworld. Once Hayes showed up with his girlfriend Mallory, we got the big news from Taylor and Seth: they were expecting not one but two babies! Mike and Nancy were beside themselves. What a way to top off our family get-together.
