Christmas 2024
Mark and I celebrated Christmas with Matthew and Sharon this year, and though it was quieter without our lively grandsons running down the stairs first thing in the morning to see what Santa had brought them, it was a special day, as always. On Christmas Eve we went to the evening service at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. Sitting outside — the inside of the church was full — we listened to the beautiful instrumental music and choir as the sky darkened and the lights lit up the Christmas tree. Mark and I were touched that Sharon once again honored our Christian tradition. And keeping with tradition, we afterwards went over to Eddie V’s for dinner. A few weeks earlier, I had reserved tickets for The Trail of Lights, a tradition in Austin for years and something I had long wanted to see. The day after Christmas, we drove to Zilker Park to see what it was all about, and there’s no question our grandsons would have loved it. It was all about Star Wars for the boys this Christmas. As usual, Matthew got into building Legos, this time ships for Darth Vadar and Jabba the Hutt.
