Jack's Jawsome 4th, and Dog Days of Summer

Jack’s 4th birthday on June 28 ushered in the dog days of summer, so a swim party at the ranch with the cousins was the ideal thing to do. In July, Mark and I took a trip to France—Provence, Lyon, Chamonix, and a one-day visit to Paris. I’ll save that for my next post. We continued to spend a lot of time with our grandsons, and Bonnie’s family and ours came together again for Alden’s birthday in August. It was a fun time, especially since Patrick and Michael made the party. It ended up being bittersweet since I had to share the news of my breast cancer diagnosis. Elizabeth and Jennifer felt closer than ever, and Bonnie promised to be with me after my surgery. She and Amy, and especially Mark, would be there for me.
