Matthew's Birthday, in Austin, and Mother's Day

Matthew was with us for his birthday in ‘23, and all we could think about was his upcoming move to Austin in June. He had matched with Dell Children's for his internship. What’s more, he was going to rent Jean Cannon’s house in Cherryville for the year. We celebrated with Matthew and Sharon at Eberly for dinner, along with Benjamin. It was the first time he had spent a weekend with us alone, away from his mommy and daddy. When Andrew saw the photo of us in the beautiful lounge with antique, wood-paneled bar, he asked, “What’s Benji having?” Around the same time, Amy visited us at the ranch. It was a picture-perfect day when we walked the trail to the pastures with Jack driving Benjamin in his little car. When I was able to stop by, I enjoyed relaxing with Bonnie on her back porch. And then came Mother’s Day. Elizabeth planned our visit to Houston’s Botanic Garden on that clear, sunny morning. One other special event that beautiful spring: Molly’s college graduation, which Elizabeth could not miss.
