Patrick and Michael's Wedding in Palm Springs
Christmas usually leaves a little sadness in its wake -- all that buildup for the holidays, and then in a flash, it's over -- but this year Patrick and Michael's wedding took care of that problem. On January 12, in the not-too-shabby locale of Palm Springs, they tied the knot in very hip fashion. Patrick and Michael hosted the wedding dinner in a romantic restaurant courtyard, and it was so much fun meeting some of their closest friends. Afterwards, Bonnie and John invited everyone to their rental house, which was fabulous, for drinks and dessert. Of course, Patrick chose red velvet for the wedding cake, which was beautifully modern. The second night together, Bonnie and John hosted a dinner at a restaurant set outdoors among the trees. Everything was wonderful, as I know my sister planned it to be. Along with the fun evenings, we enjoyed the sunny days at our mid-century rental and in the idyllic town of Palm Springs. Saturday afternoon we relaxed by the pool at Bonnie's, John stepped through a screen at the sliding door, and we got to know some of Michael's friends a little better. We hated that Elizabeth felt under the weather, but she felt, like the rest of us, so happy to be part of Patrick's wedding weekend. Here’s to you, Patrick and Michael, and to a wonderful life together! (And to identify the last photograph: Mark had to check out Frank's house. He's forever a die-hard Sinatra fan.)
