We arrived at the Empress Hotel in Victoria on Sunday evening, with dinner at The Bengal, the dining lounge decorated as a club room in the days of the Indian Empire. While Mark attended his meeting during the next two days, I explored the museums and shops around Government Street (like Munroe Books). In the late afternoons and evenings, we took in the sights together: Fisherman’s Wharf with its float homes, Beacon Hill Park, the ornate English pubs where the singer/guitarist Tom Hooper brought us back to the 70’s. We met friendly Canadians, as we had in Vancouver, who weighed in on American politics. We also had the best breakfast we’ve every had at Blue Fox downtown. It was impossible not to relax in the laid-back atmosphere, especially with the sunshine and cool temps. Leave a comment
