For a few relaxing summer days, our family came together again in Louisiana. Amy and Claude took a trip to Miami to celebrate her 40th, and got a glimpse of glitzy club life among the beautiful people. Bonnie and I stayed with the kids and got a whiff of smelly cleats and rowdy pets. Oh well, we felt we got the good end of the deal, with the special time we enjoyed with the kids and Mom and Dad. At the end of the week, Mike and Reese and Kaley joined us for a day and later returned for a chartered fishing trip. Amy and Bonnie and I treated ourselves to the Commander’s Palace in New Orleans, and the beautiful Lafayette Cemetery -- established in 1833 -- before I had to fly home. I include here another pair of Dixie Chicks -- you never know who you’ll run into in Austin! Leave a comment
