Summer Visits to Texas

Summer Visits to Texas

In the month of June, Amy drove to Texas for a soccer camp at UT, and while Molly was wowing the coaches on campus, Hayes and I were checking out fishing spots and hiking trails downtown. The water was still high, and some of the trails still flooded, so we took to the bikes part of the time. Of course, the pool at home was the perfect place to hang out in the hot afternoons. Even Klein splashed around to stay cool, reminding me of years ago when Hayes and Molly and Claude, Jr first christened our pool. Soon after Amy and family left, Debbie and Amanda stopped by en route to San Diego. It was great to show them Austin for the first time, and then to enjoy Mark’s birthday. And a week later, I drove to Houston to pick up Bonnie for a trip to Houma. There we celebrated Mom and Dad’s 60th anniversary with a two-day visit to Beau Rivage. We loved that Mike was able to join us. Whew! June was a packed month, from beginning to end.
