Andrew and Elizabeth invited us for a Saturday at the ranch, and the day turned out to be a beauty. The guys drove around on the dirt bike, we played cornhole toss in the yard and cooled off in the pool, and of course we ate great food, particularly Andrew’s smoked ribs. What drew us together was Elizabeth’s birthday, and along with Andrew’s dad and Vivian, we celebrated in the low key way Elizabeth prefers. Then, when Sunday morning started out sunny and warm, and we watched Djokovic dash Federer’s hopes for Wimbledon -- sigh -- we took to the paths around the ranch for a run and a walk before breakfast. It was a very nice close to a very nice weekend. At the end, I include our July 4th afternoon in Gruene with Barbie and Dennis, our friends from San Antonio.
