Trail Ridge Road winds through Rocky Mountain National Park and takes you to an elevation of 12,183 feet. That close-up view of the park’s snow-capped peaks cannot be reproduced to satisfaction, but we did our best. The mountain views with the surrounding tundra and wildflowers, and the thin mountain air and colder temps, made for an exhilarating experience. You might wonder why I chose Boatman for the music here. I don’t know. It’s a favorite, and it somehow captures the spiritual feeling of the place. And speaking of spirits, I include photos of the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, the inspiration for Stephen King to write The Shining. And it’s also the luxury hotel site in Dumb and Dumber. Yes, can’t believe there’s a sequel coming soon. At the end, I have photos of our place on the mountain, less than ten minutes from the park, and its sunset views. Leave a comment
