We loved being together this Christmas, starting with a visit from Andrew with Elizabeth, and Matthew’s arrival from Arkansas. It was fun watching old Christmas movies, as always, but especially since Andrew was seeing some of them for the first time. We teamed up for Trivial Pursuit, the old against the young, and we made our gumbo dinner a group effort. While Mark and I met up with our old friends, Darren and Linnea, for brunch -- they were visiting Houston from Reston, Virginia -- the young folks had to stop by Taco Deli and do last-minute shopping. The afternoon before Christmas, we showed Elizabeth and Matthew the trails behind our house, before our tradition of Christmas Eve service and dinner out. We all woke up early Christmas morning, but as usual we took our good old time opening gifts and having breakfast and preparing the turkey dinner. It was a lazy couple of days, with movies and puzzles and Legos, and playing games while listening to Matthew’s new albums upstairs.
