Hayes's LSU Graduation
We returned from Italy just in time for our road trip with Bonnie to Baton Rouge. Hayes’s LSU graduation is a watershed moment—he’s the last of the cousins to graduate from college. It was a big family affair with Elizabeth and Jennifer driving in from Houston, too, along with Molly and Alyssa and Claude Jr. with Pops. Amy and Claude loved that we were all there for the event, and were beaming with pride and joy. Maybe Claude Jr. was the happiest of all; Hayes is taking his place on the job in Jennings while he returns to work in Houma and the building of his new house. It’s one more chapter that’s come to an end in our family history, bringing to mind the parade of births, baptisms, graduations, and weddings. Next is Claude Jr.’s marriage to Shannon next April. After saying our goodbyes to everyone, we headed to Mike and Nancy’s in Mandeville. Our relaxing time with the two of them, especially sitting out back on the patio, was a great end to our long weekend. On the note of family, I include photos of Mother’s Day and joyful times that my grandsons give to this mother.
