Thanksgiving and Gingerbread Party
We arrived back at home from our trip to Japan just in time to celebrate Thanksgiving, literally picking up Matthew on our drive into Austin. It was fun sharing all our stories and photos with him, and relaxing after such a journey. Matthew built my Lego Japanese tea garden since I hadn’t gotten to it myself. And keeping to tradition, we bought our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving, and later went out to dinner in memory of Stephen’s birthday, this time to Uchi, his favorite restaurant. The days after returning home swept us up like a whirlwind with all the events stacked up after Thanksgiving: our night out at the Alley Theater to see A Christmas Carol, Bonnie’s holiday party, the boys’ Christmas program at school, and then the family Gingerbread party at the ranch. Such are the holidays. It was a fun and crazy few weeks, and by the time we left the ranch, Mark and I were ready to settle in back home for Christmas.
