Good Times in Nola

Good Times in Nola

In March, Mark and I decided to get away to New Orleans for a long weekend to check out the World War II Museum, and to visit favorite spots we hadn’t seen together in a long time. Amy and Claude surprised us when they decided last minute to stay overnight in our hotel. We went to dinner at Gianna, a beautiful new restaurant in town, and stepped into a few funky places on Frenchmen Street for live music. As for the museum that Mark has been dying to visit, it was definitely worth the one and a half days it took to do it justice. It was only a month later in April that I returned to Nola, this time with my sisters for our sibs get-together. We loved strolling through the Garden District before we headed to Mandeville for a couple of days with Mike and Nancy. As usual, we were treated to great Cajun cooking, including a crawfish boil, before we settled down to cards and mah jongg—which Bonnie had hauled in a heavy bag on our flight from Houston.
