Zoo Boo Birthday
For my birthday, I requested a day with Jack and Benjamin at Zoo Boo, this time to see it fully decked-out for Halloween. It worked out for the boys to stay for a sleepover, and, as always, they had to enjoy our pool deck at the apartment. That night, it was only Mark who dared to jump in. This October found Benjamin more interested in dragons of all kinds and Jack intent on catching as many lizards and frogs and worms as possible. For my part, I helped keep the creatures fed, with live crickets from Petco and pieces of fresh veggies we filched from the fridge. The boys were excited about their birthday present to me: a miniature Japanese sushi shop. Mark meticulously assembled it from the tiny wooden pieces over several days, a labor of love to be sure. Elizabeth gave me the gift of a traveling bag, just what I needed for our upcoming flight on ANA, and Bonnie treated me to lunch and shopping out in Katy. Then Matthew decided last minute to visit Austin—on Halloween weekend—and that made my birthday feel more complete. Now Mark and I are packing for our trip to Japan…
