March Birthdays and King Tut
There was no question what the theme would be for Benjamin’s third birthday party. The only question was: would Benji get tired of King Tut before the party came around, since the planning started in January. Well, no problem there. Benjamin has been watching documentaries on Howard Carter’s discovery for three months now, and is still fascinated. We’re just concerned about Jack. His response when Benji asks to watch yet another documentary on King Tut: “Nooo! Not that again!” (Thankfully, his brother has lately preferred Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, but even that is getting old for Jack.) Benjamin’s party was a fun time, and Clayton and Vivian were the icing on the cake when they walked in dressed in character. Amy reacted with regret, wishing she had worn a Cleopatra costume she could have borrowed. Mark and I immediately felt the same way. Why didn’t we think of that? But at least I had found the perfect gift on E-Bay—a vintage Playmobil pyramid set—and everyone was great about finding Egyptian-themed gifts. The partying wasn’t done when Benji’s party winded down. Bonnie and John had ua all over to their house to celebrate Beck and Cole’s 6th birthday. March is packed with birthdays. Andrew’s follows the day after Benjamin’s, and we had the family over to our apartment for dinner. Patrick’s and Bonnie’s birthdays are at the beginning of March. Bonnie and I finally had time to celebrate hers with a fun lunch date. We try not to let each other get lost in the shuffle!
