Thanksgiving in Austin and Mom's Birthday
Thanksgiving this year was a special one, with Mom and Dad coming to Austin with Bonnie and John. Matthew was here for a nice break, and he and Mark followed tradition and ran the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. Our table was set with Mom's good china. Since she and Dad moved from Houma to Houston in late September, they had to trim down and so gave us these dishes. We missed Elizabeth and Andrew at the table, and Elizabeth's idea of each person choosing one thing they were most thankful for. In our hearts, we all knew what that one thing was: another holiday with Mom, healthy and happy. A week later we were celebrating Mom's 85th birthday at Bonnie's. As usual, Klein's sweet way with his great-grandma brightened her day. And I'm sure listening to her favorite Bee Gees would do the same.
