Too often the worst of times brings people together. This past weekend, the memorial service for another young man, the son of our old friend Darren Lisse, brought Mark and me back to Reston, Virginia. Cameron was 22. Debbie was there for us, picking us up at the airport and taking us to her place where we stayed for those few days. We were able to spend special time with Bud and Amanda and Lindsay -- and to watch their Baltimore Ravens win the Superbowl. At the Saturday service, we reconnected with friends we hadn’t seen for twenty years. All there to support Darren and Linnea, we commented on how such a sad occasion had reunited us, and that included my dear friend Pat and her husband Bob as well. We met them for the service and afterwards went to dinner for Pat’s birthday which was the day before. It was a memorable weekend. Cameron, you had a short but remarkable life, like Stephen and Nick and Sam. And you all made a difference in people’s lives that will last forever. Leave a comment
