We spent a wonderful few days in Houma for another Cajun Christmas, though we missed Elizabeth driving over with us. As usual, the feast was huge, with Mike’s smoked turkey as the highlight. Of course, we had our share of dips and sweets and Dad’s gumbo the day before. Reese took the most hits at our gift exchange, with the guys stealing his crown, his beer and his gift cards to places like Hooters (what the?) and Subway and Academy. We had so many takers for cards this year that we filled two tables, and once the dust settled the next day, we fit in Mom’s favorite mahjong. Despite all the commotion of Christmas, Amy and Claude managed to make headway on their house renovations, and we were able to get a sneak preview before we had to head home. For those who were not with us, I attach one of my favorite songs for the holidays. Leave a comment
