This fall and winter, Mark took on the Austin Distance Challenge, a series of six runs from September to February. The first were Run Free Texas, an 8K, and then Run for the Water, a 10-miler, pictured in the lead photos. A longer run was the Decker Challenge Half-Marathon, which was followed by the Rogue Distance Festival, a 10K. The last two runs came back-to-back: the 3M Half-Marathon and the Austin Half-Marathon. And then there were the earlier runs in April, May and June and the Turkey Trot with Matthew at Thanksgiving. Whew! No wonder Mark is running on empty! One thing I have to add -- all these runs raise money for charity, which is a nice lift to the runner’s high.
